So… What is Branding?

A lot of people think it’s one thing or another, it’s about a color, it’s about a phrase, it’s about a tagline, it’s about the marketing… It’s really a little bit of everything.
Branding is all the ways you establish an image of your company in the consumer’s eyes.

What is the Purpose of Branding?

The purpose of branding is to simply and easily help your customers differentiate you from others; your unique selling proposition and the combination of all the ways you communicate what you are doing and what it’s all about.

Things to Consider When Developing a Branding Strategy

  • Identify what your clients love most about your business
  • Who is your target audience?
Is it the people just in your community? is it people across the country you’re trying to get to relocate to your community?…
  • What is your brand’s image?
Do you want to be about your community, blending in, bringing people to a beautiful home, helping them purchase a home?
  • How do you want your brand to make people feel?
If people are feeling good about things and your brand makes them feel happy, you’re going to have so much more fun with that.
  • When and where are people to likely encounter your brand?
Whether it’s online, in a newspaper or you walking down the street in your community.

Things to Take Away From This Talk

  • Stop thinking ‘I can’t worry about that, I have a business to run’.
If you’re not doing the branding to have people know what you’re all about, what’s the point of doing it all then?
  • Consistency
If you do something once and it doesn’t work, you don’t do it again. However, if you’re not consistent with your brand, you’re branding is not going to work.
  • Always be reinforcing your brand.
You want to live your brand!
  • People Attract like People.
    Find your niche.
  • Be You.
Be authentic. If you seem nice in your branding, don’t be difficult in real life. Be consistent with your brand, and have your brand be authentically you.
