Technology and innovation can be funny and awkward both early on and in hindsight. And innovation comes in many forms.
Innovation can be loud, with lasers, fireballs, stunts and TV cameras as Elon Musk did last week with the CyberTruck launch. However, more frequently, product launches and innovation start more quietly, behind closed doors often times only as a mere spark.
With both, most people will doubt, question and avoid the “risk”. But some tech forward, early adopters accept imperfection and help improve and iterate as the systems gradually gain momentum and traction until the masses are consuming it – all while the technology itself continues to evolve.
For example, in the younger days of the internet, there were very few people or devices online, so there was a push to encourage use of the world wide web for crazy things like shopping. Thus, Cyber Monday was born.
A Brief History lesson from Wiki:
The term “Cyber Monday” was created by retailers to encourage people to shop online. The term … made its debut on November 28, 2005, in a Shop.org press release entitled “‘Cyber Monday’ Quickly Becoming One of the Biggest Online Shopping Days of the Year”.”
Shop.org? Yikes. But that was way back when Amazon only sold books, so… you know, hindsight.
The term “Cyber” seems awkward and so very dated to me now and looking back. Prior to last week, can you think of a single time this year where anyone used it – other than in referring to the “traditional” Cyber Monday after Thanksgiving? And yet, somehow, some way, that Cyber Monday has had staying power despite the dated image it portrays of slowly surfing the internet on a squeaky dial up modem at an internet cafe.
Speaking of way back when… Back before Wifi, one of my early jobs was installing ethernet cards in PC’s while I was a student. My, how times change. Now, to think of computers being built without any option to connect to the internet is ridiculous.
Gradual adoption, refinement, and improvement is a natural flow for innovation and growth. Things that once seemed impossible or impractical become staples of our lives.
This year has seen amazing growth and a turning point for the team at Revaluate. Early adopters are already onboard and the bugs have been shaken out. Now we are starting to see greater adoption and greater sophistication in our clients.

In 2020 we will see additional advancements in accuracy and will be officially releasing two new ancillary products that are currently in testing with several of our forward thinking clients. More on that soon.
