Why Do Internet Leads Suck?

Most agents will agree that internet leads suck. But why?

Laury Davis and Scott Lincicome, owners/brokers at Lifestyle Property Partners,  joined us at the NAR nugget stage to talk about internet leads vs your sphere. Why the former sucks and the latter rocks.

Let’s start with some examples of an internet lead?

  • Forced registrations off your website.
  • People on vacation curious about the house prices.
  • Renters wondering about the price of the home they’re in.
  • Owners curious about the value of their own home or their neighbor’s home.
  • Bored people who are watching too much HGTV.

Amongst a sea of non-leads, there are the occasional people actually interested in buying a home; a real lead!

Fun fact:

Internet leads have an average conversion rate of 5% of which 50% never get followed up on.
Why? Because were are pre-determined that internet leads suck.

To clarify, Laurie and Scott dive into the math of a lead, from buying them to actually making a needle in the haystack sale.

Spoiler alert:

You’re not making any money off of those leads!
Not only that, the buyer will most probably be gone after the sale and you have no real relationship with them.

What do can you do about it?

Knowing that 82% of real estate agents sell to their friends, families and personal contacts, the smart thing to do is focus on your sphere.

Watch the video and find out how to capitalize on your awesome sphere and leave those internet leads behind!
